2009 Community Thanksgiving Dinner

First Church of God and the Thanksgiving Dinner Planning Committee would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the 195+ volunteers who came out to help with the 2nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Once again, our goal was to provide an opportunity so that people in our community would not have to eat Thanksgiving Dinner alone. Many families, single adults and seniors joined our family for the day. We served more than 800 meals to those who ate at the church and extended "meals to go" into the community. What a blessing! We ate together, heard many stories, and prayed with those who wanted prayer. And what do you do with left overs? The left over food was donated to two ministries in Winter Beach and Fellsmere. As a body we lived out the Reach part of our vision as we shared the love of Christ.
